Training Day

Route

Today 27th March, Kieron, Stephen and Arthur cycled over 60km in 4 hours which is hitting target for completing a 110km day in France in 6 hours; as long as they can keep it up for 9 days. Compared to the Isle of Wight, France will be very flat and should reduce our time, but fatigue in the latter of the challenge will increase it again. We covered Military road in 50 minutes, bottom of Freshwater to Chale. Total accent was 328m, with Blackgang being a killer, but coming back we were pulling away from the cars, can’t imagine the speed on the new bikes.

We all noticed our training taking effect, we had an instant recovery, there was no need to stop after every hill. We managed to cycle for hours on end, the only thing dragging us was a lack of food… the pub saved us.
